T went on, “Light is just one type of electromagnetic energy. Other types are high energy wave X-rays that carry radio and TV signals and microwaves within a microwave oven. All of the bits of energy that are associated with these waves are photons.”

“I recommend people not use microwaves in food preparation,” advised Mrs. T in her best I’m being very serious teacher mode voice, “there is suspicion that the microwaves change the molecular structure of the food adversely and perhaps even harmfully for the human body.”

Ayşe sighed, “Oh dear. That means a lot of people have been at risk for a long time.”

“Nuked food is everywhere!” said Arther.

“I’m merely recommending,” said Mrs. T, “you can all make up your own minds, but do not expect microwave food upon my dinner table thank you very much.”

She was quite earnest about it; and there’s an Oscar Wilde handbag reference joke in there somewhere, ama boşver; never mind for now. She began rustling up some supper, “You cannot beat proper preparation, the colours and smells getting your juices flowing and senses stimulated. Mmmmmmm…”
